A Set is an ordered list of tracks. Its Mix Queue shows the running order. PLAN A FULL MIX (in the Library) asks the Director to plan the mix between each pair of tracks, and can suggest a better order.
- Create a Set: ⇧⌘N.
- Add tracks to its Mix Queue.
- Open PLAN A FULL MIX and press Plan set.
- Press Play set. The Director runs each mix as planned. Touch any level and you take control.
The Set's Plan pane lists the planned mixes once you have pressed Plan set. A set that was stopped can be resumed.
When you go to Performance with a planned set, A/B TEKNIQ asks: Use LIVE DIRECTOR, or You control the decks. With LIVE DIRECTOR, the first track is loaded on Deck A (the second on Deck B) and the Library shows the Set; the planned mixes start when you press PLAY on Deck A. With You control the decks, nothing starts by itself and PLAY plays what is on the deck. Loading a track yourself, or pressing I'll control the decks, hands the decks back at any time.
In the app: Open the Library
Plan a playlist: with a playlist open in the Library, press Plan set. The app makes a Set from it (or reuses the Set of the same name) and plans that. The Set is a copy, so Best order reorders the Set and not the playlist. The Set picker in the plan pane also lists your playlists.
A pair marked NO SAFE MIX is one the Director could not mix cleanly. When the tempos are within 16% of each other it plans a plain crossfade with the two tracks in SYNC; further apart it loops the leaving track out and starts the next. Either way you can open the mix in the Lab and change it.
