Two-deck Performance workspace: A dedicated panel for each deck, with jog wheels, CUE and PLAY, tempo controls, channel meters and a central mixer.

Hot cues and performance profiles: Two banks of eight named, colour-coded hot cues, with Gate and Slip Gate actions. Choose Performance or Preparation to decide how a cue behaves on a stopped deck.

Loops, beat jump and effects: Manual Loop IN and OUT, Reloop, saved loops, Loop Roll and beat jump. Add tempo-synced echo, filters and held loop effects.

SYNC and quantize controls: Match the decks' tempo and beats, and schedule cues, loops, jumps and PLAY on the chosen beat, bar or phrase. Mixer controls and keyboard shortcuts keep them close to hand.

Phrase-aware transition planning: The Director plans fade curves, EQ moves, bass swaps and loudness matching. Optional echo-out, intro holds and bass cuts add detail to the hand-over.

An editable Transition Lab: Drag track arrangements, snap to whole phrases and shape each deck's level curve. Audition alternative plans and rate the result to help the Director learn your taste.

Plan a whole set: Plan from a Set or playlist, open individual transitions to audition and refine them, and follow the track timeline as the planned set plays.

Smarter library preparation: Organise tracks in playlists and Sets, hide duplicates, and set an expected tempo for a crate before re-analysis. Remove a source folder from the library while leaving the original music files untouched.

Optional on-device AI Assistant: Smart Prep proposes hot cues for review, Next Track recommends compatible tracks, and Set Builder drafts a set and saves it as a playlist. Review proposals, accept or reject them, and undo cue changes.

Save plans and share audio: Save two-track mixes and whole-set plans to reopen later. Render mixes to audio with chapter markers and a CUE sheet, with 24-bit export available.

A guided first mix: A ten-step Beginner's guide, searchable Help and illustrated walkthroughs cover the Library, decks, cue lab and AI Assistant. A first-launch pop-up offers the guide when you open the app.

A/B TEKNIQ 0.1.0

The original app: a Mac DJ mixing studio for building a playlist, preparing transitions and exploring visual mixes.

Playlist and mix queue: Add tracks, arrange their order and build a set in one workspace. Move through the queue as a planned mix.

Two virtual decks and a central mixer: Monitor playback on two decks and use the mixer to shape how one track hands over to the next.

Tempo and phrase analysis: Analyse tracks and use their tempo and phrase information to help choose where a transition begins.

Editable transition points: Review and adjust the incoming and outgoing phrase positions to guide the hand-over between tracks.

Early transition assistance: Prepare transition drafts, inspect the suggested plan and guide the mix with your own choices.

Track inspector: Inspect a selected track’s BPM, key, analysis status and incoming and outgoing mix points. Adjust phrase alignment or open the phrase editor.

Visual mix experiments: The original app included visual treatments, live previews and video export for tracks and full mixes. These were part of the original prototype; reactive visuals in the current app remain coming soon.
