A/B TEKNIQ — PRESS INFORMATION

A/B TEKNIQ is a native DJ app for Mac and iPad. It reads music to find tempo, beats, sections, key and loudness; offers two decks and a full mixer; and includes a Director that plans transitions and whole sets. DJs can audition, edit and rate each plan. Optional on-device AI tools propose cues, suggest tracks and draft sets. Music-reactive visuals are in development.

Library & analysis
Know your music before you play. Add folders and organise playlists, smart playlists and Sets. Find tempo, beat grids, sections, key and loudness. Hide duplicates and remove source folders without touching your music files. Set an expected tempo for a crate and re-analyse tracks that read wrong.

Decks & mixer
The controls you know, with room to work. Two decks with jog wheels, CUE, PLAY and tempo faders. SYNC and quantize from the mixer, or the S and Q keys. Two banks of eight named, colour-coded hot cues. Loops from 1 to 32 bars, held effects and beat jump. Echo, filters and several equaliser models.

Transition Director
Plan the hand-over. Hear it. Make it yours. Choose a phrase boundary, blend length and bass swap. Blend mids and highs, match levels and use subtle effects where they help. Read the plan in plain English. Audition, drag the arrangement to edit, and rate the result.

Set Director
One transition, or the whole journey. Plan a Set or playlist in Club, Studio, Radio, Battle or Quick switch style. Play the planned set or render it to one audio file. Unsafe pairs are flagged, with a synced crossfade or loop-out fallback. Open a plan again and change it.

Learns your taste
Your ratings shape the next plan. Rate mixes good or not good. Learning starts after at least 30 ratings, including 8 good and 8 not good. Preferences only break ties between equally safe plans. Learning stays on the device.

AI Assistant
Optional. Off until you switch it on. Smart Prep proposes hot cues for you to review. Next Track suggests compatible tracks. Set Builder drafts a set from a length and tempo range. Tools run on the device and proposals need your approval.

Share & save
Keep the plan. Export the performance. Render a mix or set as WAV, AIFF, Apple Lossless, FLAC or AAC, with chapter markers. Save two-track mixes as .nfx files. Save set plans as .nfxp files and open them again. Your music files are only read, never changed or deleted.

Native on Mac & iPad
Designed for Apple silicon. macOS 26 or later, with keyboard shortcuts on Mac. iPadOS 26 or later, with the same app design on iPad. Mac and iPad are planned to launch together. MIDI CC controller profiles are included at launch; some mappings may need adjustment in the app.

Included at launch. Your controls, your setup. MIDI CC mapping profiles are included at launch for the controllers listed below. Some controls may need users to adjust their mappings in the app. Compatibility is not guaranteed for every controller, firmware version or operating-system configuration. Advanced hardware features depend on their own integration; a profile listing is not a promise of full hardware support.

Reactive visuals
Coming soon — a roadmap item. Music-reactive visual layers are in development. Vertical video export is planned. These features are not available in the current build.
